Notes:
Course Objective

To give delegates an in depth knowledge of the use and techniques of the M_o_R risk management method, as laid out in OGC’s guide ‘Management of Risk; Guidance for Practitioners’.

Delegate Profile

This event will benefit managers with full-time responsibilities for corporate governance or charged with enhancing an organisation’s risk management culture.

Topics Covered

The following topics will be covered:
• The Business Context
o Drivers
o Policies
o Costs and Benefits
o Organisation

• The M_o_R  Process
o Framework for Management of Risk
o Cultural Considerations
o Cost-effective Application
o Products

• Risk Categorisation
• Main Techniques
o Risk Probability/Impact Grid
o Risk Summary Profile
o Risk Register

In addition, delegates will work through a case study illustrating the application of M_o_R techniques, or participate in workshops covering the appropriate application of the techniques to real situations.

Trainer Profile

AFA trainers are approved by APMG, which administers M_o_R on behalf of OGC, and all have recent experience in management roles. The use of hybrid trainer-managers is of great benefit to delegates, because the trainer fully appreciates the reality of using a structured method. AFA represents the ATO (accredited training organisation) community on the M_o_R Exam Board.

Duration

This is a five-day event. Residential attendance is strongly advised as considerable evening preparation and consolidation work will be required of delegates who wish to pass the M_o_R exams.

Course Arrangements

The course fee includes:
• Joining Instructions including suggestions for pre-course reading
• OGC’s guide ‘Management of Risk’
• Printed course material
