Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to/or have:
  • Understand the main aspects of Project Implementation in a combination of theory and practice by simulated management of a project case study.
  • An appreciation of how the estimate is developed and used to win, measure and control a project for a company.
  • An understanding of Leadership Skills and their contribution to PM.
    An appreciation of how Risk Analysis is developed and used in the improved management of a project.
  • How procurement is developed and used in the project and the business.
  • An understanding of how contracts are developed and used in the control of a project and in managing claims.
  • Prepare a Project Management Plan.
  • Understand the issues relating to gaining project approval and funding.
    Improve their project management performance in a variety or client - contractor situations.
  • Consider applying to sit the APM Practitioner Qualification
Attendees

The course is aimed at those who have previously attended the Principles of Project Planning, and progressor courses, and also at Project Managers with experience in managing projects and wish to gain exposure to more advanced methods and techniques. The course is also aimed at Project Managers who wish to progress their careers through an internationally recognised competency route.
 
Sessions

The sessions cover all aspects of Project Management Execution. The principles are reviewed and reinforced through a combination of structured and interactive exercises which link to the development of a major case study.
 
Delegates apply what they learn in this realistic preparation of the project execution plan, performing roles within the project team. At the end of the course, delegates are required, as part of a team, to present their project management plan.
 
At the end of this course delegates will be invited to apply to gain the APM Practitioner Qualification (APMPQ)
