The aims of the course are to help you learn how to describe the need for, and methods involved in, planning a project and create a set of plans covering activities, resources, cost and time. This course covers the basic approaches and techniques of planning a project, and how they can be used to maximise success.
 
This course is applicable to all project management methods including PRINCE2.

Overview

To succeed in project management you not only need to understand the “what?” and “why?” principles, but also to have a portfolio of skills and techniques in the “how?” to do it.
This course assumes a good knowledge of project management principles, and concentrates on developing the underlying

planning techniques and skills needed to manage a project in a structured environment.
This course covers the basic approaches and techniques of planning a project, and how they can be used to maximise success.

The aims of the course are to help you learn how to:

♦ Describe the need for, and methods involved in, planning a project
♦ Create a set of plans covering activities, resources, cost and time.

Following completion of this course, you will know how to:

♦ Specify the deliverables and activities of a project
♦ Specify and estimate the resources required for a project and the means of their procurement
♦ Prepare budget estimates for time and resources
♦ Cost and price a project
♦ Produce a schedule for a project.
