Prerequisites
This course has been created for delegates new to project management or having had little formal training.

All of the project management traineres are experienced project managers in their own right. This is of key benefit to delegates, as the trainer fully appreciates the reality of using a structured project management methodology.

This is a three-day event, timetabled between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Delegates will work through an extended case study to gain practical understanding of applying the following concepts:
Project Organisation
The differing roles and responsibilities in a project; how senior managers can be engaged in a project; exercise to design a project management team
Controlled Start
Planning quality into your project - a practical exercise in writing quality plans and product descriptions
Risk Management
Identifying risks using checklist and brainstorming; which risks to tackle; practical exercise on how to assess and reduce risk
Project Planning
Assembling the document you will use to control the project; producing plans at the right level of detail; Practice: identifying dependencies; estimating activity networks; critical path analysis; scheduling; Gantt charts; product flow diagrams; product breakdown structures
Measuring Quality
Assessing the fitness for purpose of products produced on the course
Issues and Change Control
A series of role play exercise to allow delegates to:
- assess issues and changes
- keep senior managers informed on changes
- redefine a project
- close a project
Project Closure - Hand over; learning lessons for the future.
