ITIL Foundation - v2 to v3 Bridge
Target Audience
The ITIL Foundation Bridge course provides an intensive overview of the new and modified topics in ITIL V3. The Service Lifecycle is introduced and the contribution of ITIL Service Management processes to each of the 5 elements is explained. The course assumes familiarity of the candidate with basic ITIL concepts and processes; if this is not the case then the 3 day ITIL Foundation course is recommended.
Learning Objectives
- To educate delegates in changes brought about by the new ITIL v3 refresh documenting industry best practices.
- To introduce the new service lifecycle approach to implementing new and changed services, and outlines all changes to existing processes as well as covering the new additional processes.

Course Summary
1) Overview of drivers for ITIL v3, and its key concepts and benefits
2) Overview of Service Lifecycle approach and composition of each stage within the lifecycle
3) Description of key points within the 5 stages in the lifecycle:
* Service Strategy
* Service Design
* Service Transition
* Service Operation
* Continual Service Improvement
* Focusing on new and changed concepts, new definitions and terminology and key interfaces.
4) Brief outline of the control and governance of ITIL including proposed exam formats
Examinations
A 30 minute multiple choice paper will be taken at the end of the course.
The exam is a 20 question closed book paper with a pass mark of 65%.
Successful candidates are awarded 0.5 credits under the ITIL qualification scheme bringing their foundation credits to 2.0 (1.5 credits are given for the V1 or V2 certificate).
