Course: ITIL Practitioner - Change Management
Course Summary
This three-day course builds on the general principles, covered as part of the ITIL Service Management Essentials course. It provides practical guidance on the design, implementation and integration of an ITIL-based Change Management process, within the context of an organisation’s overall business-focussed Services Framework.
The course is based on the Change Management process described in the OGC’s Best Practice for Service Support book.
It has a strong emphasis on practical exercises.
Course Outline
- Planning for the implementation of Change Management
- Prioritising and assessing the impact, cost, benefit and risk of proposed changes
- Organising the Request For Change (RFC) authorisation process
- Preparing for and manage the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- Managing changes through their lifecycle
- Producing and management of the Forward Schedule of Change (FSC)
- Defining and agreeing change models and standard changes
- Overseeing building, testing and implementation of authorised changes
- Co-ordinating the back-out of failed changes
- Being aware of the support tools and techniques available for the implementation of Change
- Management and be able to indicate how improvements can be made
- Preparing Change Management reports for distribution throughout the organisation and monitor and report on the major metrics of the change process
- Understand the interdependencies between Change Management and other IT and Service Management processes
