Course: ISEB Intermediate - Software Testing
Course Summary
Software Testing Intermediate provides delegates with the knowledge, tools and techniques required of a test practitioner and provides a bridge between the Foundation level and the Practitioner level software testing qualifications.
Delegates are introduced to the challenges associated with testing in different application domains including client-server applications, stand-alone, web-based, tiered and mainframe systems. Testing with the V and iterative models is explored along with investigating how testing fits into the bigger systems development picture.
Key aspects such as formal requirements review, and project and configuration management are also considered. In addition, this course covers review techniques, using IEEE Std.1028 as a guide, plus managing testing, including test planning, test estimation, test monitoring, incident management and test analysis.
This course prepares candidates to sit the one-hour, closed book, multiple-choice examination leading to the Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing, offered by the Information Systems Examining Board (ISEB). This Certificate is a pre-requisite for candidates sitting either the ISEB Practitioner in Test Management or Test Analysis examination. The exam is taken on the third day of the course and the exam fee is included in the course price.
